MRS.
VACHE'S BOYS
Allan Vaché
This recording
gives Allan and Warren full reign to swing just about as hard
as you'll ever hear them. Whether in full ensemble, small group,
or duet form, the brothers' Vache will astound you with their
flexibility, sensitivity, and musicality. Moving fluidly from
the Traditional Jazz genre to Be-Bop, the boys freely express
themselves in colorful and expressive ways. The powerful rhythm
section of Eddie Higgins, Howard Alden, Phil Flanigan, and Eddie
Metz give foundation to anything the Vaches choose to do. The
liner notes of the CD booklet are as interesting as the music,
with a tribute to "Mrs. Vache" and the life the boys
had under her and Warren Sr's tutelage. Included are some rare
and personal photos of the young Vache brothers. This CD is
a must for every listener.
